Math On-A-Stick is a welcoming space for children and their grown-up friends to talk about and interact with numbers, shapes and patterns. To learn more about volunteering with us, continuing these conversations all year long, or planning your own Math On-A-Stick style event, check out the links below.

Math-On-A-Stick requires a crew of volunteers who are excited to spend time at the fair listening to kids and talking to parents about numbers, shapes, and thinking. If you're anywhere near Minneapolis, MN in the twelve days before Labor Day, and you're interested in learning more about the Math On-A-Stick, consider signing up for a 3-hour volunteer shift. We'll even cover your fair admission for the day!

Volunteer

Are you planning a Family Math Night? Is there a fair, carnival, farmer's market, or block party near you that could use a quiet space for kids and adults to play with shapes and numbers, design patterns and make mathematical art, and talk about their reasoning? Our Math On-A-Stick activities area explains each activity we've created, the materials and approximate cost, and includes a volunteer guide to print for volunteers!
